Mamadou SANGARE

Ibrahima DIA

Mamadou SANGARE holds a master’s degree in Biochemistry and
Microbiology from the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques (FAST), a
diploma from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENsup), Option: Biology,
speciality: Secondary School Professor, and a master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the African Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics
(ACE-B).
During his master thesis in bioinformatics, he worked on the identification
of a therapeutic target of Plasmodium falciparum and the construction of its model by homology. Thesis publicly defended in January 2019. This thesis was carried out within the framework of a research project on the prediction of structural models of Malaria parasite target proteins and the in silico screening of their inhibitors, financed by the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB).
In the framework of this project, he got an internship at the Laboratory of Bioinformatics, Biomathematics and Biostatistics of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis (Tunisia) where, under the supervision of Professor Alia Benkhala, he studied the Plasmodium falciparum protein interactions with different bioinformatics tools. The goal was to propose promising therapeutic targets of Plasmodium falciparum based on these interactions.
Currently a PhD student in Bioinformatics at the Doctoral School of Sciences and Technologies of Mali (EDSTM) of the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB), Mamadou is working on the Insilco Design of Drug and Vaccine Candidates by Structural
Bioinformatics and Immunoinformatics approach against Plasmodium falciparum malaria.
This PhD project is funded by West African Center of Excellence for Global Health Bioinformatics Research Training He works specifically on the identification of therapeutic targets, molecular modeling, virtual screening, protein interaction networks study and use the immunoinformatics techniques for the prediction of antigens for vaccine candidates design…
