June 9, 2018 / June 9, 2019 – a year ago Mali lost Prof. Ogobara Doumbo, a leading expert in the fight against malaria. Professor Ogobara Doumbo was co-founder of the world-renowned “Malaria Research and Training Center” and winner of the 2013 Inserm International Prize. He died in Marseille on June 9 at the age of 63.

“Ogo”, as the soldiers of the fight against infectious diseases affectionately called him, was respected for its commitment to malaria. “For me, malaria has always been a tragedy,” he confied in the World Africa in early May. Nearly 500,000 people die from this scourge each year – including a young child every two minutes.
Sleep in peace Professor!
